How Do You Fix Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Sign in

Greg Carmack - Windows MVP 2010-2020

Hi Frank. I'm Greg, awarded MVP for eleven years, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved.
Try these fixes for can't sign into Minecraft:

Can't login to Windows 10 Minecraft with Microsoft Account - Microsoft Community

I Can't Sign In to Minecraft for Windows 10, Xbox, and other devices (Bedrock) – Home

Minecraft Windows 10 failed to login

Can't login to microsoft account on minecraft: windows 10 - Microsoft Community

I can't sign into my Minecraft: Windows 10 (Microsoft) - Microsoft Community

Can't login to Microsoft Account on Minecraft: Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

Minecraft windows 10 Edition Failed to login - Microsoft Community

Fix - Minecraft Login failed error in Windows 10 - Howtoedge

What's working for many is downloading Xbox identity provider:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um6zF9EEm08

If nothing there helps we need to go over the game more thoroughly. Even if you've already tried steps I give here, please do them over in sequence:

1) Run the Store apps troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

2) Check for and install game Updates in Microsoft Store app > Hub (three dots at top right) > Updates.

3) Try resetting Minecraft in Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Minecraft > Advanced Options > Repair or Reset. Restart PC and try again.

If those all fail then uninstall Minecraft from Settings above, restart PC, reinstall from MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > My Library.

4) The Display driver is so important here that merely updating it is sometimes not enough. So let's try everything possible to get it working correctly:

Update the Display driver from the PC or Display adapter maker's Support Downloads web page for your exact model number, HP Serial Number or Dell Service Tag - from the sticker on the PC.

While there check also for newer chipset, BIOS/UEFI firmware (very important), network, sound, USB3 and other drivers, comparing to the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.

If this doesn't give you the latest or ideal driver for what you need, compare it to the driver offered by the Intel driver update Utility here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/...
or the Nvidia Update utility here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=e...
or the AMD autodect utility here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/P...

For Display issues one fix that is working is to Roll back or Uninstall the Driver on the Display Device > Driver tab, restart PC to reinstall driver.

You can also try older drivers in Device Manager > Display device > Driver tab > Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick.

Then you will know you've tried everything in addition to Windows Update drivers.

Adjust the screen resolution until it fits and looks best at Settings > System > Display.

5) See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem began following this guide: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-r...

System Restore is your first line of defense and can take you back to a point before a problem began. If it doesn't help then you can undo it. Read about it first in the tutorial above and then try restoring to just before this started.

If the problem repeats then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta...

6) If this was caused by a Version Update then for 10 days you can roll it back in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool which is explained more here:
https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta....

If that doesn't work you can also Go Back in Repair Mode as shown here:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanc...

7) If nothing else helps then contact Minecraft Support here:
https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you'll wait to rate whether my post resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Sorry Greg,

With all due respect, even though all the things you wrote are probably good "tips" in general, they are nowhere near being an answer to the question. Recommendation toupdate USB3 drivers, to address Minecraft is giving an error (a specific one)!!!! This is absurd.

Please correct me if I'm wrong - I would be genuinely interested - but how are these (beyond store troubleshooting and installing the app again) are anyhow relevant with the problem at hand?

If you don't have an answer, you don't have to reply. This is not a call center, you don't have to "close the ticket".

Regards,

Downloading the 'Xbox identity provider' solved this problem for me. Giving credit to the source, I found it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um6zF9EEm08

Thanks! Installing the "Xbox identity provider" worked like a charm

I find it so weird that the error code, which should help identifying the problem, was made so it was something "funny" but NOT helpfull at all.

It comes up with ERROR CODE: BAT the second I click. No chance to enter details.

Just login to the XBOX One Smartglass app that is included with Windows 10 & it'll log you in. No need to download anything, sacrifice a chicken, or sell your first born. Easy Peasy.
